Extended Class

Teen Issues...with a twist!!

Our class will focus on the most pressing issues that face teens today! You've heard adults say, "I'm glad I am not a teen today because it's too hard. There are so many outside pressures." We'll look at those pressures ranking from being slaves to fashion to drugs and sex abuse.

We'll examine the reasons, causes, and solutions to the issues facing teens today. Guest speakers will be invited to our class to talk to you f rom first hand experience.

The most exciting part will be that we will produce our own teen magazine. You will each have the opportunity to have your own column. With the aid of our new computers, new publishing programs and digital cameras, we will produce a professional looking magazine. Hopefully, our magazine will be so interesting that we can sell the issues to the student body.

I plan to work together as a class to create a year filled with fun, new experiences and lots of valuable learning.
