Unacceptable Behavior

  1. Interferences: behavior that interferes with the property, person, or legitimate activities of others but is not clearly criminal:

    1. vandalism
    2. theft
    3. extortion
    4. loitering
    5. fighting
    6. forgery
    7. gambling
    8. chronic selective truancy
    9. possession or misuse of markers
    10. possession of: weapons, alcoholic beverages and/or illegal drugs
    11. deliberate defiance of authority (refusal to follow the reasonable direction of a school official)
    12. threatening bodily harm to staff or student
    13. disruption of the educational process
    14. other (acts which endanger the health, safety, welfare or morals of the student or others)
    15. possession of pagers or cellular phones


    The principal may suspend any student for up to (5) school days (after the oral conference with the student as required by law), for any of the above reasons: such behavior may result in suspension and/or referral to the Central Office for disciplinary action.

  2. Criminal behavior: behavior that the law or the City School District has defined as criminal behavior will result in suspension and possible referral to the police or to the Superintendent of Schools for further action.

    1. willful or intentional assault on staff or student
    2. use of any weapon on school grounds (definition: a weapon is any rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver, or other firearm or knife, chain, club or other implement used as a weapon)
    3. brandishing of a weapon
    4. possession of a weapon with threat to use it
    5. drugs, possession of, sale or distribution of any illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages on school grounds
    6. extortion of a fellow student with threats to cause bodily harm
    7. arson and/or false fire alarms or false bomb threats
    8. vandalism (including graffiti)

The School Without Walls Community Has The Right To Protect Itself By Acting Against Those Who Act Against It.
