E. Credit By Proposal
To earn credit for any activity a clear proposal must be approved before the activity begins. It must detail: what you are going to do, what you are going to learn, how long you will be doing it, and how you will be evaluated. There will be no possibility for earning credit if the proposal is not approved by your advisor in advance of beginning the activity.
There are specific guidelines for work experience and music:
Work experience credit - You may earn credit for work experience; however only 2 credits can be used to meet graduation requirements. The work experience must equal 150 hours per .5 credit. Check with your school counselor for more detailed guidelines.
Music credit
Lessons - no more than .5 credit per year to a maximum of 1 credit for music lessons can be used to meet graduation requirements.
Theory - a student can earn .25 credit per semester for 1.5 hours of theory per week; .5 credit may be earned per year.
